What is therapy like?
Imagine that someone gives you all her undivided attention, is genuinely interested in you and your story, and listens carefully to all of what you say and don’t say.
This will be your experience with me in your sessions. I will make sure that you feel heard and understood. I welcome the whole you without any judgement. In my office, you will find a warm atmosphere and I will make sure that you feel safe to talk about what you really think and feel.
Therapy should be as individual as you are
Depending on your goals and current needs I will use and adapt several diverse therapy approaches rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Sometimes we might use a more structured approach and organize ideas on a white board. For example, this approach might be used to help you visualize how negative thinking patterns influence your behavior and emotions.
Other times it’s better to use a less cognitive approach and we might apply different types of guided imaginary to evoke specific mental pictures to help you change perspectives and cope with fear or pain.
Another approach could be so-called chair work, which is a way of understanding hidden core needs and desires that impact your way of thinking and behavior.
Therapy is worth it because you are worth it
While encouraging change is a major component of therapy, it is equally important to learn to accept every part of ourselves as we are now, especially the painful parts. I will help you develop a compassionate view of yourself, so that you believe me when I tell you: you are enough!
Even though therapy can be challenging at times, at the end it will be worth it. You will feel confident that with the knowledge, skills, and tools you gain in our sessions, you can handle both inner and outer turmoil by yourself. This will empower you to live your life the way you want to.

A little bit about me…
I was born and raised in Germany, hence bilingual German. I moved with my American husband to Colorado Springs a few years ago.
What I love most about therapy is being part of people’s amazing transformations and unbelievable personal growth even during their darkest times. With a little bit of help, people grow from feeling unloved, unappreciated, fearful, and insecure to being strong, confident, brave, and mindful of their needs.
My mission is to combine different perspectives and techniques that come from various therapy approaches in a unique way to help you make a positive shift in your life.
Training and experience
I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in clinical and counseling psychology from the University of Marburg, Germany (2009). Additionally, I graduated from a 3-year post-master’s counseling training program from the Berlin Education Academy in Germany and earned my counseling license in Germany in 2017.
I have also completed advanced training in cancer counseling (2014) as well as advanced training in hypnosis and hypnotherapy for cancer patients. I have cared for and worked with cancer patients and their families in several settings including inpatient hospital floors, outpatient medical clinics, intensive care units and hospices.
What I like to do outside the office?
In my free time I love being in touch with nature. Whether it is hiking in the mountains, walking through the forest, or gardening at home, every environment has its own way of giving me peace of mind.
I also enjoy traveling to different countries and getting to know different ways of living. Listening to people’s stories and discovering their ways of thinking has always interested me a lot.
As a mother of two young daughters, you will often find me at playgrounds, exploring museums, or just being lazy on the couch with ice cream and watching the latest Disney movie.
