FAQ

Where is your office located?

I am in the heart of Colorado Springs, Colorado, only a 5-minute walk from many moms’ favorite place downtown: Poor Richard’s.

Look for a mint green house on Nevada/Willamette with white columns, come in and sit in the waiting room next to the fireplace. My office is next to the waiting room; I will get you.

Where can I park my car?

You will find free parking spots around the building and a designated parking spot behind the building.

What are your office hours?

I see clients between 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

What is your hourly rate?

My session rate is $150, which reflects the depth, care, and personalized support I bring to each client.

This is an investment in your mental and emotional well-being – and in creating a real, lasting change in your life as a mom.

Do you take insurance?

I don’t take insurance; I accept private pay only. Many moms appreciate the privacy, flexibility, and depth of paying out of pocket – no diagnosis required, no insurance limits. Let’s focus on what truly supports YOU.

What is your cancellation policy?

My cancellation policy requires 48 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee. However, I understand that a mom’s life can be unpredictable – naps go wrong, fevers pop up, or plans suddenly need to change. As long as we have open communication and mutual trust, I’m happy to be flexible and waive the fee when life gets in the way.

That said, I also encourage moms to protect this time as much as possible because this space is for you, and it matters.

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple – send me an email or call me with your name and a good time to call you back. I’ll respond within 24 hours to answer any questions and schedule a free 15-minute consultation. You don’t have to do this alone. Support is one message away.

Do you only work with women?

I choose to work exclusively with moms because I understand the unique mental load, identity shifts, and emotional challenges that come with motherhood.

While I focus on supporting moms, I include partners when helpful, offering a holistic view of family dynamics. If a partner wants individual support, I will refer them to a trusted counselor so everyone gets the care they need.

Does anyone cry in front of you?

Yes, many moms cry in front of me, and I welcome those tears with gratitude. Crying is a sign of trust, and it’s often exactly what’s needed to release built-up tension, pressure, and anxiety.

Sometimes, a good cry helps moms let go of what’s been holding them back, so they can breathe, refocus, and move forward.

Do you ever lose your cool as a mom, too?

I’ve had moments when I later wished I’d handled things differently. I’m a therapist, but I’m also human.

What matters is how we repair, learn, and keep showing up – and I practice this in my life, just as I teach in sessions.

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long day?

I love a hot herbal tea, a cozy queen-size blanket that wraps around my whole body, and my journaling book. I also love walking outside or listening to music that brings me back to myself.

What inspired you to become a therapist for moms?

Motherhood is life-changing. It’s beautiful, yes, but also incredibly demanding and often lonely. I became a therapist for moms because I’ve been there myself. That experience helps me understand what moms need and what solutions work.

Paired with my therapist lens, I bring research-based tools and proven methods to help moms feel more grounded, confident, and supported – in theory and practice.

Do you have a go-to phrase you say in sessions a lot?

Yes! One of my favorites is: “Your inner critical voice is very loud today!” I often say, “You’re allowed to take up space, let’s focus on your inner supportive voice,” because so many moms forget that they matter, too.

What’s something clients are surprised to learn about you?

Born and raised in Germany, I speak both English and German fluently, which gives me a broad perspective and a deep appreciation for different ways of thinking.

Clients are often surprised (and amused) when I write their words on the whiteboard, especially words they haven’t written in a long time, and suddenly neither of us is quite sure how to spell them.

We usually share a laugh, and it becomes a perfect moment to model that you don’t have to be perfect. In this space, imperfection is welcome – it’s real and enough.

Why did you choose a beach theme for your webpage? There are only mountains in Colorado.

The sea — with its ever-changing tides, quiet depth, and wild beauty — mirrors the emotional landscape of motherhood. It reminds me (and hopefully you) that even in the chaos, there’s space to breathe, room to feel, and freedom to be. That’s why I bring a bit of the ocean into this landlocked space.
